In order to keep pace with today’s operations, logisticians require an agile supply chain. Militaries across the world are focused on finding solutions that will allow for the rapid procurement, maintenance and replacement of military assets, often in austere theatres.
Ahead of his presentation, Major General Craig C. Crenshaw, Commanding General, Marine Corps Logistics Command spoke with Defence IQ to explain the critical solutions that the USMC is using to improve demand forecasting and lighten the logistical footprint, in preparation to support rapidly deployed contingency operations. He highlighted critical technologies such as additive manufacturing, and explained how the USMC integrates contractors within its logistics network.
